Released in 1983 by Jeterboy (aka Joe Harris) and executive producer Michael (Spanish Dogs, later RoosterHead) Kennedy, Juke Box isa wonderful snapshot of the SoFla punk/New Wave scene at the time. The original 12 tracks have been augmented by tracks culled from the Moss Music catalog. Included on this disc are:
• Two Eat songs, the previously unavailable “Call to Cuba” (a rewrite of “The Car” from our Eat CD ) and “Nixon's Binoculars.” • “X-Rated Go-Go Lunch” by Gay Cowboys in Bondage. • “In My Lifetime” by techno-popsters Radio Berlin • The proto-hardcore of “Breaking the Law” by Crank. •The unreleased Cichlids track “Motorboat.” • Stan Still Dance Band's “Artist.” • Larry Joe Miller's rockabilly sci-fi “Knocked out Joint on Mars.” • Jimmy J and Joe performing “Lookin.” • Charlie Pickett and the Eggs live performing “Roosterin' With Intent.” • “Shake Like A Hurricane” by The Spinouts (featuring Joey Maya from the Reactions). • and Hirsute phallus glorification with the Poster Children doing “Grizzly Bear.”
To this original mix, we've added:
DT Martyrs' “Born To Drink”; Screaming Sneakers' “Abnormal Reflections”; Violent Love & the Dead Whores' “Straight From The Heart”; Spanish Dogs' “Hire Every Hitman” and F's “Such Men Are Dangerous.”
This eclectic collection stands as a cross-section of a vital time in the Moss Music era. It comes highly recommended.
