We at Moss Music are fans of SoFla music. And it occured to us recently that if we weren't getting any younger, those stacks of magnetic tape in the basement were getting older, too. And if we didn't find some way to preserve them we'd lose some really great music. Irreplaceable music. So we pooled our resources and started converting our SoFla music collections to digital sound. It was during this process that two ideas dawned on us. One, a common thread running through much of the recordings was the presence of our dear, departed friend Pete Moss. And two, that there might be a small group of people who, like us, love this stuff.

So as we spent many late hours converting analog to digital, cleaning up, remastering and packaging the sounds we loved. We expanded the project to include original vinyl releases, combining and sequencing tracks to produce the best, most representative collections of performances of SoFla musicians.

During this time we also set about designing and building this site. Not just to sell CDs, but to expose, and pay tribute to, the life and work of Pete Moss. We really don't care if we sell any CDs. But we hope that people who care about this music enjoy looking around the shop, remember this music and realize what a big part of it Pete Moss really was.
