Originally from New York, Ruby had kicked around one SoFla scene or another until she met Michael Kennedy, who was looking for a lead guitarist for the Spanish Dogs. After doing her time there she developed this, her eponymous Hard Rock/Heavy Metal group.
The core group was Ruby on guitar, Kim Scorch on bass and Jamie Lynx on drums. Ruby also covered lead vocals for a while, but soon turned to having a lead vocalist out front.
Featured on the original single release, Cherie Gem came from a Runaways/Cherie Currie vocal style (hence her own stage name-in-tribute).
Following Cherie in the line up was Lisa Rae, whose vocal talent further enhanced the bands sound and steered them in a more heavy metal direction.
