While working on their follow-up to the CD Barnyard Delights, RoosterHead released a sampler cassette of their upcoming CD Confronting Your Molester. It was entitled Tasting Your Molester and contained several tracks that never appeared on that CD, eventually retitled Traditional Cock. We've collected these tracks, including the WKPX Christmas favorite “Mr. Lampshade's Violent Xmas” along with earlier tracks remixed personally by Pete Moss for later inclusion on his own career best-of collection. Also featured in this set is an unreleased cover of the song Darlin' Be Home Soon originally performed by the Lovin' Spoonful.
It's interesting to listen as the original Kennedy/Moss version of Roosterhead runs into the full band version and vice-versa. The full band version rocks harder, approaching a Led Zeppelin heaviness in places, while the Moss remixes shine light on the pure pop quality of the earlier songs. Oh, and the Mike Vullo penned Drunken Angel is the greatest Teenage Fanclub song ever recorded.
