We're proud to admit that this addition to our site wouldn't exist without the help of our loyal fans. After putting the word out that we REALLY wanted this ep as part of our collection, we heard from three corners of the world (west coast U.S., East Coast U.S. and Japan) to contribute to the making of this disc.
Raw and filled with wild potential, you can see why The Reactions are still respected after all these years. Official Release presents the group in the studio in all their unpolished glory.
Is it the somewhat retro worldview of some of the lyrics combined with the punk attitude of the others? Is it the deft use of of hooks that are subtle as a baseball bat upside the head? Or maybe it's the sense that in a different era, you'd find these guys on a New York streetcorner, harmonizing over a doo-wop version of Marianne.
Now for the big surprise for us. We received two copies of the Reactions Live at the Agora (featured here) within a month of each other. And considering the tape comes from a WSHE radio broadcast in SoFla in 1980, and one of the contributors was from Japan, you can maybe see the reach of this music.
Some of our recent research indicates that there are unreleased studio tapes in existence. If you have a copy, or know who does, please contact us!
