Randy
Ruffner and Pete Moss first developed the Stan Still Dance Band as an
off-shoot of the Spanish Dogs, as Michael Kennedy steadily assumed control
of the band he and Randy had originally founded. Michael Chatham (also
from the Dogs) signed on as bassist, along with the mysterious Mel Hep
on guitar. Mel was replaced after the first cassette release (OK, Nobody
Move) by Rich
Definis who solidified and helped define the band's sound.
This CD covers the entire span of the SSDB's career up to, and actually
including two songs from, Randy's post Stan Still project Johnny
Tonite. These last two tracks are included because a) the feature
original Stans Chatham on bass and Moss on drums and rhythm and lead
guitars, and b) we really like'em.
