Not a straight reissue of the Ian Hammond and Sins of Soul/Last Of The Martyrs vinyl LP from 1989. Rather an attempt to re-constitute the album as it was originally intended: the DT Martyrs album.
Here, let's let Mr. Ian Hammond supply a little background:

The reason for not doing THE Martyrs album was an incident that occured after MacIvor started trying to redirect the band after Chathams departure for NYC. Namely, myself and Tony "quitting".
It was Joe Harris who suggested a "solo" album.
It has always been my desire to put out the album we had pretty much finished, half MacIvor songs and half mine. "Got a Life", "Money", and several other Mac songs whose titles escape me at the moment would be essential to show what the Martyrs had truly become after the long run of that particular line-up.
There was much erasing of "Mac tracks" in the process of putting out Sins Of Soul, Nick Kane of Iko-Iko played on a couple of tunes, and of course more tracks by the uber-engineer Wlos.
The Martyrs were so close to greatness sometimes (at least in my mind).... but we only got "close" to real success. With that in mind I've always titled my own Martyrs compilation... what else but: "Horseshoes and Handgrenades"

Well, Rusty. Here 'tis (retitled).
